Your heart will go Zoom-Zoom when you see the new Mazda3’s head turning style, and you’ll be excited by its spirited performance and sports car agility. Mazda3 Neo Sport, Maxx Sport, Diesel, SP23 and MPS are all elegantly crafted, ingeniously engineered and possess brilliant stability, control, safety and handling.

We’ll start with a few technical specifications in each model, and then highlight their individual features.

Both the Neo Sport and Maxx Sport is available in either Hatch or Sedan with a 2.0 litre in-line 4 cylinder 16 valve DOHC S-VT engine. It’s fuel system is Multipoint Electronic injection with a 55 litre fuel tank. It comes in either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed Activematic (auto) transmission, with ventilated front disc and solid disc rear brakes, Electro hydraulic power assisted steering, MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. Alloy wheels are standard across ALL models. With too many luxury features to mention, we’ll start with a few to wet-your-appetite.

Across both the Neo and the Maxx Sport are body coloured front and rear bumpers, halogen headlamps, body coloured power mirrors and power windows, air-conditioning, interior fuel release, 60/40 split fold backrest, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, AM/FM TUNER, single CD (MP3 compatible) in Neo, 6-disc in-dash CD (MP3 compatible) in Sport, front and driver front SRS airbags, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), engine immobiliser, one touch (up and down) power window (driver), remote central locking (2 transmitters with retractable key), side impact door beams, and ‘Triple H’ safety construction and crumple zones (front and rear).

Now onto the Diesel model! Again available in either Hatch or Sedan with a 2.0 litre in-line 4 cylinder 16 valve SOHC intercooled turbo diesel engine. It’s fuel system is Common-rail Electronic injection with a 55 litre fuel tank. The manual transmission is 6-speed, with brakes and suspension as per the Neo and Maxx Sport and hydraulic power assisted steering. Standard features are as the Neo and Maxx Sport, but also include the following added extras. Rear spoiler and side skirts, chrome door handles, 6 speaker 6-disc in-dash CD player (MP3 compatible), front and driver front, side front and curtain (front and rear) SRS airbags and Traction Control system (TCS).

The SP-23 is a sporty package! Again available in either Hatch or Sedan with a 2.3 litre in-line 4 cylinder 16 valve DOHC SV-T engine. It’s fuel system is Multipoint Electronic injection with a 55 litre fuel tank. Your choice of either the manual transmission being 6-speed or the 5-speed Activematic (auto) transmission, with brakes, suspension and steering type as per the Neo and Maxx Sport. Luxury items such as Climate controlled air-conditioning, leather-wrapped gear shift know and steering wheel, LED brake lamps, ambient temperature display and Blackout instrument cluster.

and finally the trilling turbo-charged MPS. Available only in the super-sporty Hatch the mighty 2.3 litre Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) turbocharged in-line 4 cylinder 16 valve DOHC is a exiting package. You won’t be disappointed with the Electronic direct injection fuel system, 6-speed manual transmission, brakes, suspension and steering type as per the Diesel, sports pack optional accessories, body coloured door handles, LED brake lamps, Climate controlled air-conditioning, drilled aluminium pedals and footrest, leather-wrapped gear shift know and steering wheel, rear intermittent function wiper,  ambient temperature display and Blackout instrument cluster and limited-slip differential (LSD) - torque-sensing.
