It may be an SUV, and seat seven with variable seating options; but it handles like a sports car with great agility. Under the bonnet is a dynamically advanced 3.7 litre V6 engine which pelts out 204Kw of refined power and 367Nm of torque, intelligently applied via a smooth 6-speed Activematic Transmission. You’ll enjoy CX-9’s supply fully independent suspension whose responsiveness makes you feel you’re driving a smaller vehicle, or even a sports car! Up front suspension is MacPherson struts to promote ideal tyre-to-road contact, whilst at the rear a sophisticated multi-link system ensures maximum grip and secure handling. At both ends of the vehicle is a substantial stabiliser bar which helps deliver a flat cornering stance. The CX-9 also boats precise, power-assisted steering with engine-speed-sensing variable assist. Completing it’s performance levels is Active Torque Split All-Wheel Drive which is actually computer controlled, reacting instantly to changing road and weather conditions, and distributing the right amount of torque between the front and rear wheels for optimum control and traction.

MAZDA CX-9 possess the Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (MAIDAS) which boosts the protection of the extremely rigid passenger cell, by absorbing and redirecting impact energy away from the vehicle. Features such as side-impact door beams and a collapsible brake pedal minimises leg and ankle injuries during an accident.
