Subaru Liberty Sedan - picSubaru Liberty Wagon - pic

At Subaru we build vehicles to provide the Driver with confidence. Especially in conditions where it really counts, such as cornering, in the wet and in every terrain. We also provide an exhilarating ride through innovation, technology and every intricate detail in the Subaru range of luxury cars. You’ll enjoy driving better than ever!

Subaru vehicles are passionate performers, being heavily involved in rally sports throughout the world for many years. Subaru vehicles have captured ten consecutive Australian Rally Championship Drivers’ titles Australia wide thanks to our reputation for building dynamic, reliable and durable cars.

The Liberty is full of choices, starting with the vehicle available in both a stylish sedan or practical but also stylish wagon. Available in a model to suit your budget and lifestyle, it handles all the most difficult driving conditions thrown at it with exceptional ease. Models start with the 2.5i (manual or auto) or 2.5i Premium (only auto), 2.5i Premium with Satellite Navigation (auto); the 2.5i Sports, 2.5 Sports Premium or 2.5i Sports Premium with Satellite Navigation (all auto only); the 2.5i GT Premium with Satellite Navigation (manual or auto), and finally the 3.6R Premium with Satellite Navigation (manual in sedan only) and 5 speed automatic transmission. All Liberty’s are extremely well appointed for your ultimate driving pleasure. But don’t forget safety, we’ll mention that a little later!. Manual transmissions are a new six-speed transmission on selected models, whilst the automatic transmissions are five speed. Read all about Subaru’s clever transmission performance in our Liberty brochure, and all of the features including Continuous Variable transmission (CVT), Variable Torque distribution and Hill Climb Control all on Autos, and wider gear ratios in the manual option which translates to faster acceleration in the lower gears and improved fuel consumption.

The all new interior in the Liberty is impressively luxurious with high levels of comfort and a full set of appointments. You’ll notice the extra space, especially in the back and when behind the wheel you’ll find everything is within easy reach, so you’ll find it easier to concentrate on just the road alone.

We at Subaru pioneered Symmetrical All Wheel Drive (SAWD) over 30 years ago, and it remains one of our greatest achievements. The combination of SAWD and the traction control system incorporated within the Subaru vehicle Cynamics Control system (VDC) optimizes tyre traction and provides you, the driver with outstanding control. Partnered with our horizontally opposed Boxer engine, and symmetrical drivetrain, it gives you a sense of balance and poise inspiring confidence, but ultimately safety in whatever condition. The sense of control you feel behind the wheel owes a lot to our Intelligent Chassis design and finely tuned suspension. The rigid but light materials in the chassis provide the car with extra agility and the McPherson strut-type independent front suspension, and double wishbone rear suspension and speed sensitive power-assisted steering combine together to provide a controlled, smooth ride with loads of road-holding grip.

Not only stylish, safe and luxurious, the Liberty’s also exhibit dynamic power in all their models. The Subaru 2.5 litre SOHC Boxer engine has a maximum power of 123kW at 5,600rpm and maximum torque of 229Nm @ 4,000rpm, whilst the 2.5 litre DOHC turbocharged Boxer engine has a maximum power of 195kW at 5,600rpm and maximum torque of 350Nm @ 2,400rpm. And finally the Subaru 3.6 litre six cylinder DOHC boxer engine outputting a maximum power of 191kW at 5,600rpm and maximum torque of 350Nm @ 4,400rpm. So whatever your choice, you’ll have loads of get-up-and-go when needed.

The Liberty is exceptional on safety features too, and has been awarded the ANCAP rating of five-star crashworthiness for occupant safety from the respected and independent Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP)(1). The Liberty’s ring-shaped passenger safety cell is made to absorb impact - and features steel reinforcements, crumple zones and a strong rigid build designed to help reduce injury in the event of an accident. Liberty’s other safety features include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), TCS Limited Slip Device (LSD), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and finally Brake Assist (BA). Importantly there are seven SRS(2) airbags to assist in the event of a heavy impact, dual front, front side, driver’s knee and curtain airbags come standard in all Liberty models. Many more safety features are mentioned So in the event of an accident, you’ll be protected by Subaru to the highest levels.
